Albuquerque Auberge de Jeunesses    "The Route 66 Hostel has a great atmosphere. The staff is friendly and informative.
The common room offers a variety of books and stacks of National Geographic magazines. There is sometimes even a guitar laying around, but be sure to ask permission to use it.
This hostel does require chores. Chores are not strictly enforced, but are simple and quick, and always appreciated. Doing chores in hostels used to be a tradition many years ago, but this is one of the rare hostels that still...The University of New Mexico is just a few miles from the hostel. You can walk to the bus and train station. Come explore Albuquerque!
Albuquerque's Old Town is just a mile from the Hostel, and Laundry and Grocery Stores are an easy walk from the Hostel.
The University of New Mexico is 3 miles east of the hostel and can be reached by car or city transit.
You will find that the Route 66 Hostel is well located for reaching the Botanical Gardens and Aquarium, Zoo, many Museums and the Sandia... (Cedar Crest) "Sandia Mountain Hostel is nestled east of the Sandia Mountains and is a nice place to relax and hang out after skiing or hiking the nearby trails. It's a great place to meet people, as it's quite small with a very friendly atmosphere. The place looks like a chalet with wooden walls and cathedral ceiling and a wood burning stove in the middle for cool evenings. The staff are friendly and the hostel has five donkeys and a burro so you are more than welcome to save vegetable peelings and rest...
