It's close to one of the best boogie boarding beaches on the island (Anahola Beach) and a few blocks away from downtown Kapa'a, which is known for its good eats and cheap variety stores. The hostel itself had a very "insidery" feel. Most of the folks there seemed distant and weather-blown, as if they've been there for a hundred years and intend to stay. Small, cool breezes, nice people -- you just want to stay forever. It is hard to peel yourself away and actually do any hiking -- I just bummed around for quite a few days.
