If you're not visiting for the nightlife, Jomtien Beach is very nice; however, if you have the means of transportation, it would be most wise to visit the beautiful island of Ko Samae San and enjoy the beautiful tranquility that engulfs it, while of course taking advantage of the excellent snorkeling and diving that it offers. Pattaya also hosts numerous festivals and events throughout the year, including their International Music Festival, The Pattaya Marathon, Miss International Queen and Beauty Pageants, and a big Chinese New Year celebration, to name a few.
