The dorms are pretty standard. Not totally clean either. Hot water comes and goes. The common area is tiny, and the kitchen even smaller. It's really only big enough for one person at a time to cook. That is, if they don't shut off the power. About the power situation -- the staff are incredibly rude once they've got your money. Instead of telling you exactly what time the kitchen closes or giving you any warning, they just shut off the... In August it's impossible to relax and have fun -- families everywhere, everything is too expensive, all bars and discotheques are overcrowded. Go to Tarifa but be careful by choosing the period! I was there in the spring -- the kite surfing was great and found a wonderful hostel. Comment by lesley Canada Tarifa has a very cool vibe. But in August, it is packed with families and annoying people. You MUST book in advance to stay here. Nightlife is very cool, but if you're lucky enough to be in a windstorm there, you're screwed during the day.
