Tarifa Auberge de Jeunesses

"Rooms ok, staff horrible - Well, the rooms are alright. The dorms are pretty standard. Not totally clean either. Hot water comes and goes. The common area is tiny, and the kitchen even smaller. It's really only big enough for one person at a time to cook. That is, if they don't shut off the power. About the power situation -- the staff are incredibly rude once they've got your money. Instead of telling you exactly what time the kitchen closes or giving you any warning, they just shut off the...

"A very nice hotel, spanish style and ambiance, very moderate prices for clean, comfortable and friendly rooms with tv and balcony. Near to bus stop, easy to park your car nearby, but still quite and just five minutes to the wonderful old town of this surfer paradise." … "Great place to stay in the off season when the prices are very reasonable (30 euros for single with queen-sized bed and private shower and bath and a TV). Tarifa Travel Tips & Suggestions

I love this town in low season. In August it's impossible to relax and have fun -- families everywhere, everything is too expensive, all bars and discotheques are overcrowded. Go to Tarifa but be careful by choosing the period!

If you really want to enjoy the beautiful Tarifa, go there in low season -- the best moments are April and October. In July and August, it's too crowded.

What to say -- Tarifa is the best! Beaches are awesome. I'll come back for sure.

Tarifa is really relaxing in the off season. I was there in the spring -- the kite surfing was great and found a wonderful hostel.

Tarifa has a very cool vibe. But in August, it is packed with families and annoying people. You MUST book in advance to stay here. Nightlife is very cool, but if you're lucky enough to be in a windstorm there, you're screwed during the day.

Tarifa is a bit laid back place, it feels quite far away from the rest of Europe and you can feel it. I really enjoyed the beaches, which are wide and half empty, top beaches in Europe. Feels almost like Jamaica. I loved the place.
