There are plenty of museums, galleries, and shopping malls, so you should not have any problem choosing how to spend your days. If you are an art lover, you will enjoy walking around the streets and see the many pieces of tasteful graffiti. Street art is on almost every corner.
Belgrade has became a very popular destination in the last few years for backpackers -- for this reason, more and more Belgrade hostels are spreading all around the city. In fact there are very inexpensive ones and some are very close to the city center, which is always a plus and very convenient. Some Belgrade hostels used to be apartments and are now converted into hostels, so they aren't very big, but are still comfortable enough. If your accommodation is a bit further away, don't panic because the night public transport is available until 4 a.m. The city is very easy to reach thanks to the good rail and bus connections between the rest of Eastern Europe.
