While staying in a Guanajuato hostel, don’t miss the old churches and convents. You can easily reach the city by bus, but it might be easier to rent a car since it is pretty remotely located. Hostels in Guanajuato are centrally located, and if booked in advance and nicely asked the proprietors can arrange to pick you up at the bus station. The friendly Guanajuato hostel staff can tell you about what’s going on at the time of your visit and tell you about the safe and active night spots (Guanajuato is also a very lively student town, so night life is very vivid).
