"Toasty and warm in winter - It's a very clean, large dorm unisex room but not a bunk bed dorm. Receptionist is very informative and helpful and he even picked up one traveler who got lost in metro station. There is not much good restaurant or fast food shop around. "Cute guest house with a friendly owner, in a great location. - I stayed there this past week, and recommend it if you are looking for an inexpensive play to stay in the Susukino. We could have rented bikes, but ended up walking everywhere. Nothing was out of reach by foot. The owner was very friendly and helpful and he spoke very good English. It's not a social hostel, just somewhere to sleep and shower. No need to hang out there, when there are four thousand licensed bars/clubs/restaurants within ten minutes' walk. "Sapporo House Hostel is in an extremely convenient location, a mere five minute walk from Sapporo Station and two blocks from the botanical garden. Exit the station's north gate and turn left, or simply exit West through the shopping center, and it's straight ahead. The reception is very polite and helpful. Check-in hours are limited but there is no curfew and the front door is always unlocked. Since rooms are also not monitored and no bed assignments given, this means that safety might be an issue although Sapporo is quite a safe town....  more »
