The person that opened the pretty Georgian red door looked and acted as though he had never seen a backpacker before in his life. It is also very difficult to find the hostel. Drogheda is situated on a steep hill and the hostel is at the very top. The train station is at the top of another hill and is rather far away. Once you do find it and are checked in, the only way to get back in is to ring the doorbell... Bus Éireann service from Dublin to Drogheda is an all year round service. A regular train service also runs daily from Pearse street, Tara street and Connolly train stations in central Dublin.
