Get to know Biberach (no more "I wish I knew this before")

This section is dedicated to take away all your "I wish someone had told me that before I went!" experiences. This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Biberach.

There is a choice of a whopping five different Biberachs in Germany -- so make absolutely sure you've got the correct Biberach when traveling! This one here is the Biberach an der Riss; it's the Biberach that lies on the banks of the Riss River in the beautiful region of Oberschwaben, which is famed for its hilly countryside with lots of woods and rural country dotted with charming little villages and plenty of old castles, churches, chapels, and monasteries.

Biberach is thriving economically and this is seen throughout the town -- everything is well kept and people stroll through the picturesque old town with its old, wooden-framed buildings spending their money in little shops and cafes. Biberach is not big and rarely visitors stay longer than a day or two. It's reached easily enough as it has a stop on the main train line from the Lake of Constance to Ulm and also the road network connecting it is perfectly fine. It also has a wide network of hiking and biking trails connected to it and is actually on the main route of the Oberschwäbische Barockstraße, a route for cycling or driving that connects the most important Baroque towns in Germany spread over five hundred kilometers.

Biberach's hostel scene is, as in so many other small towns in Germany, in government hands. Yes, government-run hostels are rarely of the cute, little alternative style so many travelers wish for, but you can be sure they are well managed and well kept and will have regulated prices. Even moreso, if it weren't for the government, places like Biberach would probably not have any hostels at all.

There are buses in Biberach but walking to and from the hostel should be possible for everyone with an average fitness.
