The hostel looks a little untidy from the outside but the inside is quite well-furnished. Despite its size, the wood walls/soft lighting makes you feel like you're staying in a lodge, not a hospital (although it's clean enough to be a healthcare facility!). This is the only hostel we've been to where the check-in desk sells full bottles of wine!..."Location
The YHA Honister Hause is one of the highest situated accommodations in the Lakes District. From Keswick, take the B5289 up along Borrowdale. The climb will be rather gradual until you reach Seatoller, then be prepared for a twenty-five percent grade (not a joke) for a stretch, which levels off as you reach the pass.
