Cornwall, Cornwall, England, is a beautiful area to the southwest of England. Tourism has taken over the town's former activities of tin mining, fishing, and rumoured smuggling. Cornwall offers a slower pace, ideal for taking a break from a hectic lifestyle. In fact, this is the area of the UK with the highest level of second-home ownership. The unique quality of the light and coastal scenery also lends itself well to filming for the TV and movie industry. The area has a maritime climate with mild winters.

There are a range of hostels in Cornwall, Cornwall, England. Some of them are in the main towns and some in more remote areas. Cornwall is extremely popular with English tourists in the summer months, so it would be sensible to book a Cornwall, Cornwall, England hostel bed in advance (although in some hostels, tent accommodation is offered).

It is fantastic for hiking, having more than two hundred miles of coastal paths going from Marsland Mouth on the north Cornish Coast to the Hamoaze and Plymouth Sound in the south. Public transport also covers a lot of ground, but may be infrequent or finish early in some areas. It is possible to buy a day ticket to cover all of the buses in the area or buses and trains combined.

Newquay is particularly popular with surfers (at Fistral Beach), hen/stag groups, and with teenagers celebrating the end of their schooldays. Towan Beach is ideal for children or adults who want to explore the rock pools beneath the cliffs. Truro is the only city in Cornwall but it is not vast. It has a Gothic-style cathedral dating from the early twentieth century and features the usual chain stores besides some independent shops.

St. Ives has a long history of being especially attractive for artists. As it has a milder climate, it has always allowed more painting outdoors and the coastal scenery provides good subject matter. Although St. Ives is a small, remote town, it possesses both the Tate Gallery and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden.

Landsend is a good location for photos, but very commercial for such a remote location. It is a four-mile walk from here to the open-air Minack Theatre at Porthcurno. This unusual theatre from the thirties is constructed on a cliffside looking out to sea; performances take place from May to September.

Penzance is on the coast to the southwest of Cornwall, and within walking distance are the villages of Mousehole and Newlyn. Penzance has a several hostels, and the train and bus stations are adjacent, which makes it convenient to switch between the two types of transport.

With its abundance of natural beauty, Cornwall is a wonderful location for lovers of the outdoors. It is also the only place where you can taste a genuine Cornish pasty!
