Dubrovnik Auberge de Jeunesses  "Best "hostel" i've stayed at - I stayed here in August 2008 and was didn't know what to expect having thought that I had booked in to a hostel. Everyone I dealt with for the stay was more than welcoming, more than happy to help out with anything I needed, and helped make our stay as pleasurable as possible. I had a few miscommunication problems and wasn't able to confirm what time I'd be at the station however someone was there for us when we arrived for the free transfer (which I'd say...    "This hostel was excellent except for the owners who make you feel like you're an inconvenience to them! The facilities are great and the beds are very comfortable. The location is not bad; it's between the old town and the bus station, and both are around a 10 to 15-minute walk." … "The location is ok, but a little hard to find. Some extra signing would help. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there are places to buy food at restaurants, etc., down the road. If you like walking,...(Old Town) Newly opened in July 2008, Fresh* Sheets is located in the quiet part of the Old Town, just a few minutes walk from the sea and within 8 minutes to all bars and restaurants. Accommodation includes: ensuite bathrooms, free breakfast smoothie, and Internet access. There is no common area this year (the owners plan future renovations) but you can hang out and meet other travelers at Fresh*, a popular travelers' hang-out that serves up a tasty selection of wraps, smoothies and 3 liter beer and... "Is Villa Banana (or "Vila Banana" as they spell it) a bright, blue gem in a city with limited options? Not exactly. It is bright and blue and in a city with very limited hostels, yet it has more to be desired. Overall this hostel is a decent sleep, especially if you're doing a longer stay in Croatia.
