Niagara Falls Auberge de Jeunesses

"The Niagara Falls Backpacker's Hostel is lovely. It's on a quiet residential street not far from the main street of Niagara Falls town and about a 30 minute easy walk to the tourist area and falls. It has the vibe of staying at a family friend's cozy house. It is family run and they obviously care about the place and it's well looked after and very clean. There's free internet and breakfast. The breakfast is nice but finishes early (9am). It consists of juice, coffee, fruit, toast,...

"For location, this hostel can't be beat. It's located just a block from the Clifton Hill tourist district and is an easy walk to Niagara Falls. The friendly owner loves to talk and has plenty of information on things to do in the area. The hostel is very quiet and doesn't have much social life. The kitchen seems to be the only place to hang out. Private rooms are tiny and cramped while the dorms are a bit roomier. The bedrooms and kitchen were clean, but the bathroom could use a scrub....

Niagara Falls Travel Tips & Suggestions

Niagara is more than a one day visit! Most travelers are coming to Canada to see nature. The Niagara river is one of the world's greatest rivers, not just for the falls. The gorge and parkway are amazing. There are many great, short hikes along the river with spectacular scenery. They have the world's largest whirlpool, the best jetboat ride in the world, Canada's largest wine producing region with vineyard tours and free wine tasting, bike tours, great hostels, awesome night time activities, festivals year round, and Canada's best New Years eve celebration. Yes, it is touristy but so is every other world "must see" destination. However it is very easy to get past the touristy attractions and have a great time during the day exploring nature and chilling in the parks, along the river, and then at night going out to an awesome restaurant, pub, nightclub, or even try your luck in the casino. Give yourself at least three days to see the area, do a bit more research, and properly enjoy one of the wonders of the world.

If you go to Niagara Falls and like beaches, be sure to go to Sherkston Shores.

Niagara Falls is very touristy, and there's not much to see asides from the main tourist strip. If you want to see the Falls, just one night, or even a day trip from Toronto is generally enough to get your fix of this place. There's the huge waterfall (you can take the Maid of the Mist boat right up close), and Clifton Hill which features numerous haunted houses, a Ripley's Believe it Or Not Mueseum, and a big arcade, amoung other things. The weather is generally very nice in the summer.
