"You're on a boat! (T pain not included) - So there's a rather obvious advantage of this hostel; it sits in a canal. The less obvious one is that you finally get to use the phrase "batten down the hatches" without the least bit of irony. "HI - Gent Hostel De Draecke is large and has a rather cold institutional feeling to the place. It caters to large groups and is open all year. It is not inexpensive but the price does include breakfast and bed linen (towels must be rented). Left luggage is free, but they charge if you want to use a locker for storage.
