"The YHA Gagudju Lodge in Cooinda is in a great location in the centre of Kakadu National Park. It is very close by the launch for the Yellow Waters boat cruise, which is one of the highlights of the park. It is also centrally located to explore Obir and Jim Jim and Twin falls, the other major landmarks. The hostel has a great range of accommodations, from campsites to cabins. "This is a VERY BASIC hostel, but the atmosphere and remoteness (although not far from Jabiru) are wonderful. Walks and an amazing river cruise available from front door of hostel. Not a place for those wanting any luxury. Remember to bring your torch and be prepared for the constant hum of the generator and for possibly having a cold shower.......We however love the genuine hospitality we have received on our 2 visits and are planning on going back." … "… in the northern region of Kakadu National Park. The only reason for going to Darwin is to access Kakadu National Park. I and my two children (daughter, fifteen, and son, seventeen) signed onto a three-day camping tour of Kakadu with Kakadu Dreams. Nez was our guide, and presented us with a fantastic view of this immense park. Camping is the only way to really grasp this incredible area. My daughter became entranced with the digi, and purchased the "right" one just before we rolled back into Darwin. — "Juanito Hayburg"
