Coffs Harbour Auberge de Jeunesses    "One of the best hostels in Australia. The staff, location and the hostel itself are unbeatable. "Wow is a great word to describe Coffs Harbour YHA Backpackers Resort. This hostel is brand new. It was built from scratch (it didn't take over a previously occupied building) and opened in December 2004.
All areas of the hostel are immaculate, from the kitchen to the common area to the rooms and bathrooms. Bathrooms are only accesible by key card access and are gender-coded. This means that men can not access the female bathrooms and vice versa. The rooms contain brand-new bunk beds and... "I tried to stay for 2 days and stayed for 2 weeks. This is the best hostel I have ever been to, the staff were friendly and created a great vibe around the place, they got me hooked on scuba diving and it didn't cost anything like what it does in Cairns." … "What a fantastic hostel, don't even plan to leave within a couple of days as you won't want to!! This year was my 3rd visit to Aussitel and I intend to make my 4th early next year. It's too good to miss!" … "Brilliant place,... "This place has the best damn shuttle bus driver in Australia, Sam Macaskill! It's a lovely place to stay, and it has good food as well." … "The Planto rocks!!! It's the best place." … "If your priority is proximity to nightlife, this is the place. It's more of a hotel than a "real" hostel in my opinion. Reception was quite often closed and you would have to contact the staff in the bar of the hotel — great if you need something on a lively night!
The kitchen is not all that... "I found the staff to be unhelpful and the whole site to be less than up to scratch. It's a part of a tacky pub, and appears to be quite run down and neglected. The site is due for replacement, the management doesn't care and it's very noisy. Better places are not far away. This place is not close to the main areas of town. This place is worth missing! The only thing it has going for it is the road into town! Not even its location on the beach makes up for this less than acceptable converted...
