"Stayed at Wild Side, Buffalo bay in 1999 and went back in 2000 after seeing the new year in in cape town. A long way from family, this is the nearest you could feel to home. "No problems here. This place has good facilities and friendly staff. The guests were laid-back, too. I spent a couple of evenings chilling around the campfire with a couple of beers. "Not so great anymore - We stayed here 4 years ago for the oyster festival and had a great time so we were really looking forward to returning. The location can't be beat and the communal areas and dorms are fine. But this time round the roof leaked and rain soaked my clothes and bed. When I complained in the morning the staff wouldn't give me a discount and then to top it all off I found about a dozen bites on me, no doubt from the bed bugs!
