"This is a unique hostel experience. The hostel is an old Sears House, mail ordered and assembled during the time the Hollywood writer Louis Bromfield was building his estate. Bromfield's famly lived there while the mansion was being built. The hostel is clean and pleasant. The mansion next door is quite an experience. It is like walking into New York circa 1933. The last time we stayed here they had a square dance in the barn for locals. People came in pickup trucks from extremely small towns in the region. This was authentic old Americana... more »
