I lived in Kilkee for three months and I have to say that it's a beautiful place. The town is just charming.
I stayed in the little town of Liscannor and then walked to the Falaises de Moher. I was traveling all by myself, a girl of twenty on her first trip out of the U.S. It was the best experience of my life. Liscannor is amazing. After one hour at Egan's Pub, I was being treated like family. One warning, if you don't like small towns, then Liscannor is not for you. But if you truly want the Irish experience, go to Liscannor! You won't regret it. Also, the Cliffs are walking distance away, about four miles (six kilometers). It took me about an hour. It is a beautiful walk, but it is all uphill and along the dangerous Irish roads, so if you're not feeling adventurous, I would recommend the bus or cab.
Lisdoonvarna is a perfect spot to spend a few days. We stayed three and that was perfect. We visited the Cliffs of Moher and drove to the beach at Lahinch twice. Lisdoonvarna was close to the sites but you don't have to deal with the hassle of Lahinch. This was our third trip to Ireland and our first to Lisdoonvarna but it won't be our last!
Ennis … You have to stop and enjoy Cruise's pub. The most comfprtable, most Irish pub I found in Ireland. Not to be missed.
Doolin … Just a quick couple of comments. GO TO THE MUSIC STORE. It's really cute, and it serves GREAT chocolate cake with whipped cream. Bring cash, because there is no ATM in town, and the grocery store does not accept credit cards.
Lahinch … We loved it.
Kilfenora … The men are very friendly and only too willing to show you the sites!
