The Murcia Region has a lot to see and do and you should be able to get around and see it within a couple of days. The best way to do it if you have either a car or a bus is to base yourself out of Murcia city in a hostel and take day trips as not many of the towns worth visiting have hostels in them. With Murcia as your base you can make day trips to adjacent towns such as Lorca, Totana and Caravaca De la Cruz to get your fix of castles, archaeology and medieval history. There are other towns inland and along the coast which feature these things as well but these are three of the more prominent towns that are easier to.get to. And then when you are done with that you can call in at one of the many beach towns such as Aguilas, Mazarron or of course Cartagena and get your relaxation on.
