Dragonfly Garden

Dragonfly Garden is run by Brian, from Ireland, and Joanna, from England, in partnership with Mr and Mrs Yang, a local Bai family. We designed and rebuilt the guesthouse from an ancient Bai farmhouse, set in large green gardens with beautiful mountain views, surrounded by trees and little log cabins.

Dragonfly Garden is a guesthouse and live music bar. It has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, and caters for all types of traveller. There's everything from dormitory beds to beautifully decorated couple rooms with ensuite bathroom, TV, and DVD player. Or you can stay in our Native American Tipi for free!

As well as nightly jam sessions in the bar, we have trance parties once a month, and Dragonfly Electric Picnic every saturday (live music followed be DJ).

We have poi and yoga classes, juggling and fire shows, and welcome artists, performers and musicians of all kinds. Artists are invited to paint a mural on one of our walls. We also organise Tai Chi and Kung Fu lessons, taught by a local Monk.

We have a full Chinese restaurant menu, cooked by Mrs Yang, and a Western Bar and breakfast menu. We regularly cook and eat communal meals together in the evenings, and guests are welcome to join us, or to use our kitchen facilities.

There is a movie room with over 200 movies open to all guests, pool table, board games, book library, free internet service and WiFi, and 200 GB of music available for free download.

We have western toilets and hot showers with mountain view, we do laundry, and we also provide a travel service. We can book your bus, train, and plane tickets, organise day trips, and offer detailed travel information about the local area, China, and the rest of Asia.

Room prices range from 20 RMB (dormitory) to 100 RMB (ensuite room, mountain view). If you would like to stay with us, please just call!
