Ô de Casa

O De Casa Hostel is an old student house converted into a hostel by a group of young students. With a friendly and young feel to the hostel, this place is very easygoing for backpackers visiting Brazil.

Location

O De Casa is located in Pinheiros neighbourhood, which is fifteen minutes from Avenida Pualista and thirty minutes from the Centro by bus. It takes an hour to get to this hostel from the Rodoviaria (Bus Station) and one-and-a-half hours from the International Airport. You need to take a metro to Clinicas metro, which is a fifteen-minute walk from the hostel. There are no signs outside the hostel, so double check the address when you land up. The location of the hostel is convenient to reach the city centre or the wonderful Bohemian neighbourhood of Vila Madalena, which is known for its cafes, bars, and restaurants.

Rooms and Bathrooms

There are private rooms and six-bed dorms at O De Casa. The hostel provides you with blankets, sheets, and towels. The rooms are very basic. However, there are security lockers in the dorms and each inhabitant is given a key to a locker, making the hostel a very safe option. The bathrooms are limited, so you may have to wait for your turn to take a shower.

Common Spaces

O De Casa is actually two houses connected by a common backyard with a lovely garden. With a sunny backyard, a mini garden, and a cozy common room, O De Casa offers enough place in the hostel to hang out apart from the dorm room. There are handmade signs all around the hostel, making it extremely personalised and homey. The kitchen can also be used by hostelers and is well equipped with utensils. Breakfast is fairly elaborate with fruits, bread, cheese, jam, juice, coffee, and tea. The hostel also provides free internet facility with one computer near the reception. Apart from this, they also have brochures and maps about Sao Paulo and tourist information to navigate around the city.
