Avis de Hostelz.com
The Melting Pot Backpackers Hostel's great location makes it an ideal place to stay in Malaga. It is located in a quiet residential area, just out of the city center. Not only Alcazaba can be explored on foot from the hostel, but also the beach is located just down the street from the hostel.

In order to claim your restful stay at this hostel, you must be ready to climb seventy-one stairs from the street entrance to get up to the hostel. From its terrace, you get a view of the ocean as well as a view of the city, but you must be ready and willing to climb its narrow stairways to get your quiet and relaxing rest in Malaga. We must say it could be daunting if you have to carry heavy suitcases.

Each room has six beds, but it doesn't seem too crowded. Beds are comfortable and sturdy. Each room has personal lockers (you must pay a key deposit fee). The front dorm room has a bathroom (bathtub) with toilet. The front room seems bigger than the other two. There's another bathroom with toilet in the front. There are two shower stalls in the back side of the hostel and the two bathrooms are roomy and clean. The only drawback of these two spacious bathrooms is that the toilets are also located in the same room, and only one person can use the bathroom at a time. Thus it limits the number of people who can use the facilities. There are no other separate toilets in the hostel. The staff is outstandingly friendly and willing to help everyone. From noon to 2 p.m., the hostel is closed for cleaning.

The kitchen is a bit small but has everything for people to use. Simple breakfast (coffee/tea and bread) is served in the morning for free. The hostel has fairly big common area -- a terrace which is open from 8 a.m. to midnight as well as a lounge area with comfortable chairs and couches. There's also a bar with snack shop. They also offer meals and drinks at very reasonable prices.

There are two bus stops for Paseo de Sancha. Take the second one (Monte Sancha), which will get you closer to the hostel. There's also a city bus from the airport to Alameda Principal which is easier to transfer to Bus 11. Although the description of the directions to the hostel says not to climb the hill, you'll need to climb the hill a bit from the bus stop to reach its entrance gate. Just be ready to climb many stairs with your luggage to enjoy your stay in a relaxing place in Malaga.
