Lobo Inn hostel is great for many different types of travelers that want to experience Tulum and the surrounding attractions from a convenient and more quiet location just outside of town.
The Location
The hostel is located within short walking distance to the Tulum ruins as well as the beach. There is a collectivo bus stop right next to the hostel and it is easy to tell the driver to drop you off at the “ruinas.” Although the hostel is a bit of a walk from Tulum, there are a couple of nice restaurants next door as well as gas stations and more expensive options near the ruins.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The dorm room contains seven bunk beds and has a small en suite bathroom. There is a key to the door, although it remains unlocked. Upon arriving, a volunteer provides necessary bedding to make the bed yourself. The beds are small and not very comfortable, but they are affordable. The floors are clean and there is nice airflow coming in screened windows, as well as air conditioning at night. The bathroom is small but clean. The shower does not get very hot. There are small lockers available for valuables, but no shelves and very few outlets.
Common Spaces
There are many large outdoor common spaces that contribute to an excellent atmosphere at the hostel. There are many trees, plants, mood lights, and artwork around the property. There is also a nice pool and shower nearby, as well as homemade swings, hammocks, and lawn chairs. The breakfast area contains several beautifully crafted picnic tables under a tin roof. There are so many chill places to hang out at this hostel outside of the rooms. The common spaces are the best part of this hostel. It is quite social and has a wide variety of types of travelers. There are people of all different ages including older people and children, and people from all around the world. The check in area is also nice and contains tour options and bikes available for a small per-day fee.
Summary
Overall, Lobo Inn is a great hostel. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the dorm beds are an excellent price, which also includes breakfast. The Wi-Fi is super fast, and the location is very convenient.
