Freundlicher Empfang

Nice facility, staff super friendly and helpful.
Stayed at the Port In for 10 nights and really enjoyed it. Very friendly, lovely garden at the back and a really nice breakfast.
Very Clean with a family atmosphere
I originally booked a 3 night stay, but due to an injury ended up staying 9 nights to receive medical treatment. The Port Inn is very centrally located and is very close to the main train station. The hostel is located in the downtown section across from the port, thus the name. What's nice about the location is its very close to Paris Square which is the first stop of the subway"the Carmelite". The Carmelite goes up mount Carmel and will take you Camel Centre from where a short walk takes you to the Bahai Temple and gardens. The Port inn is also only a short walk from the German Colony section of Haifa which is the main entertainment area. Very close to the hostel you will also find many pubs, restaurants, and falafel shops. There is a large supermarket only 5 minutes away with the cheapest prices I have seen in Israel. The Port Inn itself appears to have been recently remodeled, and is very clean. Actually it is the cleanest hostel I have stayed in all of Israel. It is run by a family and everyone there is very nice and also helpful. There is a living room with flat screen TV with satellite. The kitchen area is small but large enough to cook if you desire. There is also an outside garden area where most people seem to hang out. I enjoyed my time in Port Inn and would stay again.
The staff are what make the Port Inn a great place to stay!
The accommodations at the Port Inn were very nice. The atmosphere is very chill and welcoming. The staff are what make the Port Inn amazing though. They were extremely helpful even before we arrived. They were quick to respond to my e-mails, they were flexible and helpful when I needed to switch my reservation my reservation. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking to stay in Haifa.
Cosy and sociable
I loved this place. It was very clean and comfortable, with a great location just a few minutes walk from downtown, the train station and the German colony. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There's a really cosy common lounge, kitchen, and outdoor garden to relax in. It's also fairly priced, probably the best deal in Haifa. The only criticisms I can highlight are that the communal areas are locked at 10pm and the wi-fi costs extra, so they lose a star for that.
Great location, wonderful hospitality!
The Port Inn was perfect. The location couldn't be better and the hospitality from the whole staff was fantastic. I was especially grateful to Rachel for helping me plan my day trips to Akko and Nazareth. I was traveling alone and really appreciated her advice and her friendly smile! My room was excellent -- comfortable and spotless -- and breakfast was great. I would highly recommend the Port Inn to anyone visiting Haifa.
Would Go Back
I was pretty impressed with the hostel. The location was perfect for what I wanted to see and do, and the room and bathrooms were clean. The workers generally were also really friendly and helpful. The only one I thought that should keep away from the front desk (he looked like he really wanted to curse me out!), was the son with the longish hair. He just seemed angry and had no patience unlike the other workers. However, no one else had issues with him it seemed. He probably just found me annoying. Anyway, I didn't get breakfast because I was trying to save money but people that did get it seemed happy with it. They also do laundry and get it done right away. Would stay here again and advise other people.
Peace, security, and total honesty by hosts.
Wonderful staff, starting with Rachel, her husband Rami, their son Zeev, adopted member Maiko, Katy, part time night clerk, Adina, the custodian. You can trust any of the above with any of your belongings. we left, in the room, over $9,000 US in cash , most of the time we stayed there and nobody touched a penny of it. Would recommend this institution most highly.
