This pension is cute and clean with very friendly staff who speak limited English. As in most cases, charades and good humor combine to make communication possible. The pension has mostly doubles and private rooms with shared baths, but there is a loft dorm room.
It's hit or miss on the beds in the dorm room; some are comfortable while others are all springs. The downside of the dorm room is that it doesn't have a door. This isn't so much a problem of safety as it is one of noise. There is a bar/cafe on the bottom level, and if there was a crowd there, the noise would be easily heard upstairs in the dorm. During our say in the off-season this wasn't much of a problem.
The staff are very helpful, and will store luggage and do laundry, both of which will be necessary if you use this town as a base for some of the excellent hiking in the nearby Fagaras mountains.
