HI - Krakow - Grochowa Hostel

HI - Krakow - Grochowa Hostel is a cheap good option to stay. The very friendly staff, simple style, and very clean common areas make this hostel a good choice.

The Location

The hostel is located a little bit far from the city center. The only way to reach it is by bus -- this takes around thirty to forty minutes. Close by it is possible to find a small grocery store and a liquor store. Moreover a small nice lake can be found only by a ten-minute walk.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The dorm rooms are normally available with four normal beds. There is only one locker available -- it's not suitable for big backpacks. The rooms are very big, clean, and bright. For a four-person dorm, the rooms are very big and comfortable. One small table with four chairs is available. The bathroom and shower room is on the top floor -- they are are very clean and and suitable for the amount of rooms. The shower are individual and has a good water pressure and temperature.

Common Spaces

The overall look of the hostel reminds a building from the communist times -- lots of concrete and dark hallways. Close by the reception there is a nice TV room and the computer room. Three computers with internet access are available for a very cheap price. At the lobby there is a billiard table, vending machines, and a table tennis -- this is a good place to hang out. Outside of the hostel is a small garden. Every floor has simple but fully equipped kitchen. The floors are a little bit dark and depressing, but very clean.

Summary

This hostel is good place to stay considering price and structure, but regarding location there are better options. The big rooms and nice staff can make your time at the hostel very comfortable as long as you don't mind taking long bus rides.
