HI - Sydney - Railway Square YHA Hostel

HI - Sydney - Railway Square YHA Hostel is located next to the Central Railway Station, has an outside pool area (great for the hot weather in Australia), friendly environment, and great facilities. The only not-so-good part is that if you need to storage your luggage you will need to pay for a locker, and that the hostel has no parking.

The Location

The hostel is located next to the central train station, which makes it very easy to move around Sydney. You can catch a train every five minutes that will leave you at Circualar Quay, which is the farther touristic point from the hostel, but you can still walk there for about forty to fifty minutes.

Rooms and Bathrooms

All dorms have lockers were you can store your belongings (remember to bring your own key chain), with a en-suite toilet and shower to use. It also has more toilets and shower for use if the one in your dorm is in use. The bathrooms in the dorm are not cleaned everyday, so it will be mostly depending on your roommates on how it will look.

Common Spaces

The place is huge, so it has really big common spaces, great seating area full of really comfortable couches the kitchen is really big too, and you can find everything you need (except an oven) so do not think about making a roast. It has an outside pool, which is not big but it is nice and refreshing. There is a pool table, a handful of computers for internet use, and a great TV area.

Summary

It is a very good hostel, it offers really cheap prices for breakfast, and it is even cheaper to purchase your own milk at the counter than going into a convenience store. The staff is friendly and helpful, but keep in mind that it's a big hostel, with a lot of people coming and going, so it will be not as personalized as a small hostel.
