Located right in the heart of old town, Hostal Al Expr -- a brand new hostel -- is small, but the location is unbeatable. Of course, you pay for it in your dorm bed fee, but if you like the convenience of coming back in the middle of the afternoon to pick up something you've forgotten, then this is the place for you.
There are only three beds in the room we stayed in, so the chances of having an obnoxious snorer is smaller. There is only one shower and toilet, but again with the size of the hostel, it isn't much of a problem. Also, it's one of those electric devices that provides the heating, so you can only have your shower at low water pressure if you want it to be warm, but at least there is always hot water available.
There isn't really a sitting area, or a space to hang out. Nor is there a kitchen, though they have a coffeemaker and a hot water pot for making tea. The owners are very nice. When we stopped in to look at the rooms, we were quoted an incorrect price. When this became clear, we came to an agreement that involved us paying less than the full price since we had been given wrong information earlier.
