HI - Hong Kong - Jockey Club Mt. Davis Hostel

The Association's only hostel on Hong Kong Island is located on the upper slopes of Mount Davis in Western District from where there are commanding views over Victoria Harbour, the Kowloon Peninsula and to the hills beyond.

A substantial donation from the Hong Kong Jockey Club enabled a purpose-built 111 bed hostel to be completed in 1981 on this site the popularity of which is such that New Wing Extension, which contain 58 beds has been started using with the generous support again of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust in 2000 and the Club Safety Ordinance work at the end of 2001.

Due to its relative proximity to the urban areas, this hostel has long been popular with overseas visitors for whom it constitutes a convenient base from which to embark upon a variety of shopping and sight seeing trips. It also provides an idea and relaxed venue for our local members to meet with foreigners to hone their language skills and understanding of life and leisure activities in a variety of differing cultural environments.

Transportation

Take hostel shuttle bus at the shuttle bus stand, located on the G/F of Shun Tak Centre (HK$10 per person per trip, first come first served). Shuttle bus schedule is as follows:

2.
Take bus #5A from Admiralty or mini-bus #54 from Outlying Island Ferry Terminal at Central, alighting near the junction of Victoria Road and Mt. Davis Path. Walk back 100m from bus stop and walk uphill along Mt. Davis Path (not Mt. Davis Road) for approximately 35 minutes to hostel;
3.

Take a taxi from Shun Tak Centre or Kennedy Town to hostel.
