Hostel Buffalo-Niagara Reviews

Description

Hostel Buffalo-Niagara is a great base for visiting Niagara Falls, one of the top travel destinations in North America. There is frequent city bus service from Buffalo to The Falls, round trip fare is $4.00. Take your passport along so you'll be able to enjoy the Canadian side as well. Generally, guests spend most of a day at Niagara Falls, while many return for a second day or to see The Falls illuminated at night. And travelers report that the Maid of the Mist boat ride is an attraction not to be missed.

Host to backpackers, travelers and out-of-towners, domestic and abroad, this independent & non-profit hostel is in the heart of downtown Buffalo’s Theater District. We offer a communal homestead with a fully equipped kitchen with coffee, teas and oatmeal, sweet spacious lounges, free wifi, book exchange, free store, free bicycle sharing, laundry facilities, bag storage and a movie room with the finest hand picked selection of VHS tapes and Ping Pong!

Located right next door to Town Ballroom and across from Shea’s Performing Arts Center, Hostel Buffalo-Niagara is also a quick stroll away from The Tralf Music Hall and Asbury Hall. We are a few blocks away from Historic Allentown and the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, and a block from Chippewa Street. A free train ride will get you to First Niagara Center, Harbor Center, Canal Side, Coca-Cola Field, City Hall, the Naval Park, and the Buffalo-Niagara Convention Center. And, should you wish to grab some Buffalo wings in the restaurant where they were first created, Anchor Bar is just five blocks away.

New York's second largest city, Buffalo is known world-wide for its architectural treasures; only Chicago boasts a larger collection of buildings by America's foremost architects: Frank Lloyd Wright, Louis Sullivan, and Henry Hobson Richardson. In addition, renowned landscape architect F.L. Olmstead designed Buffalo's park system. The acclaimed Albright-Knox Art Gallery boasts one of the top modern collections in the world.

Let's Go USA says that a combination of big-city perks and small-town warmth make Buffalo a soothing place to spend some time. Indeed, many travelers stay a day--or several--longer than they originally planned.

Although our desk is closed during the day, we have late check-in for those with a reservation. Those with reservations who plan to arrive after evening desk hours simply need to contact the hostel in advance by phone or e-mail to make arrangements. And there is no lockout for registered guests.

We hope to see you at Hostel Buffalo-Niagara!
