1 Sh*thole, don't go
the staff are complete wankers. If they take a dislike to you don't expect any work. even if you wake up in the morning and you are sick or ill, they will take you off the work list for the next day. Rules and cameras are everywhere. You get charged for anything. The owner makes as much money out of backpackers as possible while providing the worst service. Dirty, bedbugs everywhere, even on living room chairs.

4 Very good Hostel
I stayed twenty-two Weeks in the Hostel. It's very nice over there. I had work from the first day on. I stayed in different hostels in bundaberg. this is the best working hostel in bundaberg. The staff is very nice, exclusive of the new Manager.

2 to be honest, imagine primary school where you are old enough to know that you should be allowed to enjoy yourself but get a spanking if you deviate from any of a set bible of rules on this place. Everywhere you look there's a sign telling you what you can't do. in honesty they do find you work and if that's all you have come to oz for fair play carry on, but if you came here for a good time, the good people you meet there have to drag you through it. it is primarily designed as a profit function for the proprietors and will squeeze your hard earned out of you any way they can, it's been said if the negatives outweigh the positives then steer clear.

5 Hostel is probably the closest you can get to the big brother house. You work, eat, chill out, and sleep with the same people everyday so you become really close and the friends you make are friends for life! Staff helped us with everything we needed and we got a job on the first day of getting there. You can make good money if your in it to work hard! Bundaberg ain't the happiest of towns but this hostel is one of my happiest memories traveling and i still keep in contact with friends all over the world that i met there! and an extra thanks goes to james for everything he done for us!

4 This hostel should be called Workers and More Workers Hostel, alot of working and no diving in reality. A realy nice hostel in truth, stayed seven months and was a good expierence. Met loads of good friends and the staff are really helpful and friendly. Just don't stay seven months!

3 I was in this hostel for four weeks, from end nov 2005 till end dec 2005. i had a great fun. The hostel seemed to be like a small 'big brother' house, where i made lots of friends with people, really had a good time. if you want to go to this hostel, make sure it is during the season. Plenty of jobs that you wont even have a chance to relax for two days. You'll be busy with works. But if you go there when its not the season. prepare for the worse. No jobs means no money. it will be really a waste of everything. The only reason i left this hostel was because of my physical ability. i couldnt cope with long working hours under the hot sun. Otherwise, things are good. this place is not like some other hostels. i was lucky though some people got bedbug bites. but i didnt get any. the room i was in was completely clean. (you can't blame the hostel, because it's your own responsibility to keep the place neat and clean). Plus, though you can't consume alcohol within the compound, it benefits you, as you dont have to waste your money or get hung over on the next morning. There's still some bars you can go during the weekends. You wont be bored. Nope. No time to get bored! Shops are just walking distance. You wont waste your money on anything because you will only get the important groceries. Other than that, maybe you can waste some cash on smoke. But thats it. Rates are pretty average. because you pay the accommodation that includes transportation to work. Some places charge you five bucks everyday. Here, you wont have to pay any extras. This place isn't the best. But isn't the worst neither. but think twice. there are other hostels right in the city.

4 very strict on alcohol but that helped making sure we got good nights sleep before work (thanks joe for chasing that fool off the balcony at four in the morning!) got great work with the best farmer and managed to save good money. it my not be the ritz but this hostel felt like home for the three months we spent there. there was always a queue for the showers in the house but you can have just as good a wash in the pool provided john is in a good mood or not watching the cameras. met great friends here even kept three chickens out the back that we bought on our day off in a moment stupidity (one of many). think we had a siamese fighting fish too at one stage. we will be coming to visit at some stage next year cause we're coming back in january for another year yahoo!

2 I certainly didn't have a ball here. i was sent up here to do some work but when i arrived all i got was 2 half days in the 8 days i was there! The cabin i was in was very dirty and the owner seemed a little reluctant to clean it up fully, our microwave blew up although it was replaced. I was just sat watching TV all week (although I did get to see Star wars one, which i hadn't seen since i was a kid!) The young girl on reception was really rude too and lost sight of the fact that people were paying to stay there! The place was very authoritarian. However one saving grace was the lovely black cat that was there, it was much friendlier than the staff and the majority of those staying there!.

5 I stayed at this hostel for 5 months and left rich with money and friends. The friends you make are for life and the hostel has such a great atmosphere. The owner's help you in any way they can and they became like a family to me. The work was great and the farmers and all friendly and patient. Staying here is such a great experience.

5 I stayed at the Workers and Divers for seven months. The atmosphere was great and work was plenty. I would not hesitate to recommend this hostel to anyone.
