Welcome to Mount Washington Hostel, Courtenay's largest and most stylish budget hostel. Located right in the heart of down town Courtenay and only a short 20 minute drive to Mount Washington Ski Resort, Mount Washington Hostel is the only hostel in the Comox Valley that offers an in house bar, lounge & restaurant. Perfect for meeting up with new friends after enjoying the spectacular mountains, ocean, rivers, water falls and all that our beautiful valley has to offer.
Welcome to Mount Washington Hostel
Situated in a historic hotel, Mount Washington Hostel has been transformed to provide travelers with the best backpacking experience available. The hostel offers large spacious bedrooms (all with private bathrooms), a huge, well appointed kitchen with dining and a great area to relax in with comfort. Also another great feature of our hostel is no night-time lock out, which means you are free to get out there and enjoy the great night life here in the Comox Valley. The Lounge and Bar area also provides great entertainment with big screen TV's, pool tables, dart boards and live music. The Chubby Hiker Restaurant also provides great food at an economical price for the budget traveler
But it is not the facilities that make the Hostel stand apart from the rest, it is the relaxed feeling and the sense of well being that is created by the fun and friendly staff.
Kitchen & common room:
In this well appointed kitchen you can cook up a feast with ease and then relax on the comfy sofas.
Dorm Rooms:
At Mount Washington Hostel each room has been designed to give each guest as much space as possible. Instead of jamming as many bunks as possible into our rooms, the emphasis was on creating a relaxed and comfortable environment. All the beds at MWH have high-density foam mattresses that provide a great night's sleep. A fresh white sheet, duvet, pillow and pillow case are included in the bed tariff. All dorm rooms also provide a private en-suite to the room.
Private Rooms:
We also provide private rooms for those couples who value a little privacy or just want a break from the dorm rooms. Our private rooms come with either one or two double beds and there own private bathrooms.
Chubby Hiker Restaurant:
The Chubby Hiker is where locals and travelers alike enjoy great food in a relaxed atmosphere at an economical price. We also provide catering services and have a function room that is great for that private party or group meeting.
Avalanche Bar & Grill:
If you're after a fun and exciting time then the Avalanche Bar & Grill is where you will want to be. At the Avalanche you can always expect something different. We have live entertainment every week which includes bands, Dj's, comedians and even the occasional exotic Dancer. We also have weekly events such as Nintendo Wii Wednesday on the big screen, Pool tournament nights, Dart tournament nights and Comox Valley's best jam night - on Tuesday.
The Lounge:
The lounge is exactly that, a place to relax and get comfy on our leather sofas. If it's watching the game or playing pool then this is the place.
