Avis de Hostelz.com
Zeppelin Hostel is close to the train station, has friendly and helpful staff, is very clean, and only a short walk away from the city center. Breakfast is included and free internet is provided.

The Location

The hostel is easy to find from the main train station/bus station, just be aware it is not directly on the street as highlighted on their website, it's a little bit down a yellow corridor that looks like a dead end on your right. There is a small sign saying Zeppelin Hostel. The bedrooms are directly beside the main street, which can get quite busy and noisy as loud music from cars and motorcycles that drive by. The hostel is ideally located in between the train/bus station and the city center which is a ten-minute walk away. There is a great supermarket located under a hundred metres from the hostel towards the train station.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The hostel has an eight-bed, six-bed, four-bed, and double-bed room with male and female toilets and showers (two toilets with wash hand basins and two showers for each sex). Each sink has a mirror and a light. The showers are great, easily operated, and have plenty of room but only remain on for an average of around five seconds before you have to push the button again. The toilets, as well as the rest of the hostel were very clean the whole duration of our stay. Hooks are provided for clothes and electrical outlets are provided for shaving/washing clothes.

The dorms, which contain all bunk beds, are very spacious with high ceilings and nice decorative features along the walls. Linen, duvets, a small comfortable pillow, and a small towel are provided. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning. Each person is given his/her own locker, which is more than sufficiently sized.

Common Spaces

The common room consists of a spacious sitting area, dining tables, reception, internet access point, and kitchen, as well as a message board keeping you well informed of all the activities happening in Ljubljana and the surrounding area for the following week. MTV is usually played during the day on the wide-screen TV hung on the wall. Numerous leaflets and brochures are available to read as well as a take-one-leave-one library. There are two computers with free internet and a very cool guitar that matches the theme of the hostel hanging on the wall above them.

The kitchen consists of two hubs, a fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, microwave, utensils, and bowls/plates. The free breakfast consists of cereal and toast with numerous spreads and the choice of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. They are very conscious of recycling and have supplied bins for glass, plastic, paper, and even collect bottle caps for wheelchairs for kids. It is a very sociable spot in which to meet many like-minded travelers from all over the world. There were a few nights when a lot of the residents came together and went out for dinner and partying. The hostel suggests the level of noise to be at a minimum from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Summary

Overall, this hostel is very impressive, and very much recommended if staying in Ljubljana for any period of time. The manager is extremely friendly and helpful, supplying you with a map and an explanation highlighting all the places to visit and how much they cost as well as excursions and day trips to surrounding areas and train and bus times. He is very approachable and will help you on any matter.
