Description
We have 2 basic private rooms available, 3 deluxe private rooms, and 6 twin beds available in our co-ed dorm room. We are coming into peak season so book early.
The Whales are back, and don't believe what they say in Honolulu, you can take a Boat out, of course for pay, they in Honolulu guarantee to see Whales and Dolphins? How can they? There are no Fish, no Food, you can't see beyond your hand. Honolulu is a filled in Lagoon. Which smells and is extremely dirty. The Whales and Dolphins go where the food is, and where visibility is 25' to 50'. On the Leeward West Coast of Oahu, and now it's that time of year. You don't need a boat to see Humpback Whales, Spinner Dolphins, and large Ocean Turtles. Just sit down on the beach in front of our House, local name, Turtles. Or drive 2 minutes North on Farrington Hwy to Makaha Beach. Or drive another 5 minutes to Makua Beach North of Makaha. Or at the end the road, another 5 minutes North to Yokohoma Bay. ALL uncrowded, relaxing, see all the above, plus if you like, go in the water with a mask and snorkel, swim with Turtles older than you. This is the real side of Oahu and Guaranteed to see, without having to pay a tour guide, you Have Tina and I...for free..
The Turtles only land on two Beaches on Oahu, we have one of the two, just 2 minutes by car, or 5 minutes by walking. You won't find it in any Tourist book, it has a Public access, but you can't find it unless your shown. Turtles come up during the day and night, big ones.. Makaha, next beach up is one of the island best beaches for snorkeling and swimming with Turtles, but you will need a Mask and Tube/Swim fins.. If you don't have Masks/Tubes/Fins in your country, two stores 1 minute by car, or 4-5 minutes by walking, you can either rent or buy, very inexpensive. We supply some swim fins @ no charge.

Our property is unique, just off the Ocean on the West side of Oahu. On the Bus Line which runs 24 hours a day, every 15 minutes daytime, 30 minutes @ night and on the Weekends.
About 40-45 minutes from the Airport, an hour or so from Town, Honolulu, which is the U.S.A. 11th largest city, on the same side of the island as Makaha, just South West. If you decide to take THEBUS...they only allow backpacks, no Luggage, cost is $2.00 each way, take the 40C, to the Waianae Coast, just about 1/2 block walk from the Airport to Nimitz hwy, cross over to the Mountain Eastside of Nimitz and take the 40C to the Waianae Coast, about 1 hour by bus, must have exact change. Makaha or otherwise known as the Leeward West side of Oahu, has clean uncrowded Pristine Beaches. We are located on the Waianae Coast, known for excellent Surfing, Snorkeling, calm and quiet sunbathing, during the Winter a show daily for Humpback Whales and all year round Spinner Dolphin watching.
Our property is entirely enclosed. A $50,000 6 foot high concrete fence and gates surrounding the property. We have a common area with a new deluxe B-Q. and two picnic tables, a guest Computer with high speed internet and cable/TV in all the rooms and common area's.
Our guests or visitor can view almost 200 photos on our MySpace account, type in Thunder Mountain, look for the Hawaii Classifieds link or the Picture of my Partner Tina. Click on that Pic and then you will have three separate sets of photo links to access.

| Lieu | •Bamboo Bungalows is located on the West Side of the Island of Oahu. Honolulu is the 11th largest city in the United States. Honolulu is located also on the West Side of Oahu, but South from the Honolulu international Airport. • We are located North of the Airport. When you arrive, go east one block to Nimitz Hwy, you can't miss it, for it's two stories, you will be on the bottom level, Nimitz. • Take a left, which will be Northern in Direction. Within seconds, you will see a sign in the right lane stating, H-1 to the Waianae Coast. Take that entrance. • If you are taking the Bus, cross over Nimitz Hwy using of course the lights, go to the Mountain or East side of Nimitz Hwy, a bus stop is on your Left first or you can go down another 100 yards towards town and there is another. I suggest the closer. • Take either the 40 , 40C , or 93. I always suggest the 40C, as it's twice as big as any other bus and is the express, twice as fast. You must have exact U.S. change, $2.00. You cannot take luggage, only Backpacks or Duffle bags, whatever fits on your lap. • Bus drivers have to follow rules also. H-1 freeway next stop on the 40C is the 2nd city of Oahu, all brand new and nice. The town of Kapolei, that is where the Bus Station is, stay on your Bus. • Once you depart, the Bus driver will get on the same freeway you were on, but at this point the name has changed to Farrington Hwy. That is a good thing for you, as now you will be able to see the Ocean, as Farrington Hwy runs parallel to the Ocean. • Within 2-3 minutes you will see a 10 billion dollar resort on the Left, Ko Olina. It's open to the public and has 4 man made Lagoons with clear calm water for swimming. Next you will see one of our two Power Plants on the right, Diver and Snorkelers will be on your left enjoying tropical fish which are drawn to the Hot jetted water pumped into the Ocean. • First town is Nanakuli, next town Maili, then Waianae, lotsa stores, especially Tamura's Grocery which has the 2nd cheapest eats and drinks of all kinds, 1/2 of say our Safeway Grocery store. • Then Makaha, last light @ 7-11 and Paradise tourist store which rents Snorkels, Swim Fins, Kayaks, Surfboard and also inexpensive Ocean Gear. If the bus lets you off there, we are only a 1 minute car ride on Farrington Hwy or 4-5 minute walk on Farrington to Jade Street. Take a right on Jade street, walk less than 100 yards towards the Mountains, it's flat, 1st street is Hana, next street is Hanalei Street. We are the 3rd property on the left. Can't miss it, 13 foot surfboard mounted on our Fence. • Should you like to call from 7-11, get two U.S. quarters, dial 695-5299 or 695-0902. I will pick you up for free. Just ask the Bus driver if you are close to Makaha, for the Waianae Coast has about 6 qty 7-11's.... |
