Located in the heart of the David Thompson Corridor, this four-season destination provides the perfect setting for individuals, families, groups and outdoor enthusiasts seeking exceptional recreational opportunities. We've got amazing hikes with stunning views, big fish in our lakes, smooth and wide shoulders for biking, rock climbs of all grades and levels, lakes and rivers for all your needs. You can even hop on a horse and take to the outdoors. In the winter, we also have an ice climbing wall on site! This hostel is truly a hidden gem in the Alberta Rockies.

Half way between Edmonton and Calgary (approximately 3 hours to each) and 1 hour west of Rocky Mountain House, HI-Nordegg is very centrally located. If you want to continue into the National Parks, Banff National Park is only an hour's drive (83 km).

Lieu	•The Shunda Creek Hostel is located 3 hours both from Edmonton and Calgary and 1 hour west of Rocky Mnt. House. • From Edmonton: Head south on Highway 2 towards Red Deer. Then turn west on highway 12 (to Bentley) shortly before Red Deer. Then turn south on highway 22 to Rocky Mtn. House. Finally turn west again on highway 11 to Nordegg or Banff National Park. When approaching Nordegg and you see the turn off for Nordegg, slow down! But do not turn off to the town of Nordegg. Go past the entrance to Nordegg and take your immediate right on the Shunda Creek road, following till the end of the road and staying left at the split in the road. The hostel is located at the end of the road.
