• If in doubt photograph this address (阳朔江东路118 – 阳朔大桥航运公司旁边) and give it to a taxi driver or get the driver to call our hostel and we will give directions. If you are alone or two people I can collect you on my motorbike (it might take two trips) just give us a call.
• Please Note: The bus station is no longer located in town (has shown in guide books) but has been split in to two (local and long distance), located on opposite sides of town. Depending on where you are coming from will you will arrive at one of the two.
• From the long distance bus station (Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhuo etc). At the roundabout turn right and follow the dual carriage way to a set of traffic lights. Turn left at the lights and go through the tunnel. Upon exiting the tunnel you will cross Yangshuo bridge (the only bridge in town) at the end take the first left and bear left following the road closest to the river (don’t turn right but follow the road as it sweeps right down the bank). This roads goes through the village and after approx 1km you will see the hostel on your right opposite a large bamboo tree. If you reach a large open area with a boat dock you have gone too far turn back and the hostel is about 40 meters away. Total distance from the bus station approx 5 km.
• From the local bus station (Guilin). Head into town following the dual carriage way. At the petrol station it slits in two, follow the left split and this takes you into town. Stay on that road (you will pass the old bus station on your left as shown in guide books) going past the roundabout. The road will go through 2 mountains and on your left is a large hotel (The Green Lotus 5 star Hotel) with a car park. If you are on a taxi you can stop here (don’t pay more than 10rmb). Most taxi drivers know this hotel. If you walk past it there is a small road on your left that goes down to the river. This is where you can get the ferry. There is no timetable it just picks you up when they see you waiting the crossing costs 1rmb and takes a couple of minutes. If you arrive late evening please call us as the ferry only runs at peak times (daytime and early evenings). When you get off the ferry walk towards the bank and go left. You will see a path going right up the bank the hostel will be located directly in front of you. Total distance from the bus station approx 6 km.
• From West Street (town). Go to the top of West Street and get a bamboo raft downstream about 500 meters and get them to stop at the boat dock on the left opposite the large grey hotel (Green Lotus) located near the water front. When you get off the ferry walk towards the bank and go left. You will see a path going right up the bank the hostel will be located directly in front of you. Total distance from West Street approx 1 km.
• From KFC – At the bottom of West Street turn left and follow the road until you reach the Green lotus hotel (first the road will pass through two mountains), walk past it and there is a small road on your left that goes down to the river. This is where you can get the ferry. There is no timetable it just picks you up when they see you waiting the crossing costs 1rmb and takes a couple of minutes. If you arrive late evening please call us as the ferry only runs at peak times (daytime and early evenings). When you get off the ferry walk towards the bank and go left. You will see a path going right up the bank the hostel will be located directly in front of you. Total distance from KFC approx 1 km.
