Ed House is a friendly and welcoming guesthouse set in the heart of Hongdae (the area around Hongik University Subway station). Run as a familial house, we build our reputation on cleanliness, friendly and helpful staffs who are native-speakers in English, Chinese and Korean, and on being a safe and sociable place in one of the coolest and most vibrant areas of Seoul.
Ed House is easily accessible as it is only 10-15 minutes walking distance from Hongik University Subway station, which is a stop on the Airport Railway line that runs directly from both Seoul’s international airports.
Hongdae is very popular among Koreans and non-Koreans alike, and is famed for its 24 hour activity, with hundreds of independent clothes shops and stalls open right into the early morning and many cafes and restaurants that are often open 24 hours! Hongdae’s popularity also stems from its nightlife, with many bars and a variety of clubs tailored to any musical taste, along with an underground culture of street art and live music and dance performances most evenings. Ed House’s unique position in Hongdae ensures that you can enjoy everything that Hongdae has to offer right on your doorstep, but can still expect a decent night’s sleep at night!
Ed House is run by experienced travelers who understand the most important aspects of any guesthouse. We have a very sociable communal area where it is very easy to get talking to other guests, and we provide free laundry service, free lockers, wi-fi, computer access, heating and air-conditioning, a fully-equipped kitchen, a hairdryer, food delivery service, and a rooftop balcony where it is possible to relax with a beer or attend one of our frequently organized Korean barbeques.
Our staff offer a friendly, informed and personalized service to help you get the most from your time in Seoul (such as the DMZ tours and palace tours), and can help you with your travel plans in the rest of Korea (or indeed, in South East Asia). Hongdae’s great position and Seoul’s excellent subway system means that all of Seoul’s major attractions are within easy reach from Hongdae, including the palaces, the old district of Anguk, the beautiful (but unpronounceable) Yeouinaru park by the river, Namsan tower, and the shopping districts of Myeongdong and Dongdaemun. Just ask our staff if you need to be pointed in the right direction!
All in all, if you're traveling on a budget and looking for a relaxed place to stay where you can meet people, party and share stories… book here at Ed House! :)
