Kangaroo Island Backpackers is a great place to kick back and relax, offering budget accommodation to anyone travelling to Kangaroo Island. We are conveniently located less then 100 metre's from the ferry terminal which makes life easy when you're arriving without a vehicle.

You can use your accommodation as your base while you explore the rest of the island, tour coaches leave from Penneshaw daily or hire a car and see the sites of Kangaroo Island on your own terms. There is ample parking out front for those who choose to bring their own vehicle.

The island is well known for its wildlife and you won't need to travel too far to see Fairy Penguins as they can be found almost every where along the coast line in Penneshaw. There are nightly Penguin tours available and these tours are held less then 100 metres from the hostel.

One of the main attractions of Kangaroo Island is Flinders Chase National Park which has a variety of things to see including Admirals Arch, Remarkable Rocks, New Zealand Fur Seals and the Platypus Walk. Just remember not all tours have the time to take in all the sites.

Finding Kangaroo Ialand Backpackers shouldn't be too difficult if travelling by ferry, once docked all passengers leave by the side exit and walk down a ramp. As you’re walking down the ramp look straight ahead and there will be a road that all vehicles leaving the ferry will use, there is a road (parking bay) to the left but don't go that way. Follow the road up a slight incline until you reach the top, once there you should see a couple of shops on the left, a pizza bar and the other a fish & chip shop. We are located behind the shops so you will need to walk down the driveway next to the pizza bar. Total distance is less then 100 metre's.
