Get to know Konjic (no more "I wish I knew this before")

This section is dedicated to take away all your "I wish someone had told me that before I went!" experiences. This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Konjic.

Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is one of the best places from which to base yourself to explore Bosnia and Herzegovina’s nature; it is conveniently located halfway between Sarajevo and Mostar (two increasingly popular travel destinations in Bosnia and Herzegovina). These two cities are rich in cultural landmarks, but the rest of the country sees much fewer travelers, despite the magnificent nature; Bosnia and Herzegovina offer some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Balkans, if not Europe, and its cheap prices are great for everyone’s budget.

If you are on the bus between Sarajevo and Mostar, you will feel a desire to get off the bus and explore the area. Konjic is the first town in the area with a hostel. For a relatively small city, there are quite a few Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina hostels to choose from, most of which are located in the centre. The reason for staying in Konjic, however, is normally not the town itself, so the location of your hostel in Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is not as important. The number one tourist attraction is Tito’s Bunker, four kilometers from Konjic. From this bunker, atomic war commands were planned. The tourist office offers transportation to the bunker, but it will be cheaper to ask your Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina hostel to book a taxi.

Considering the gorgeous landscape that surrounds Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, you should take advantage of its opportunities too. If you are feeling adventurous you can go rafting on the Neretva river. The surrounding mountains also offer numerous hiking trails that you can do independently. The region is too big to cover entirely on foot; to see more of the region, you can take a bus to other towns such as Jablanica, or rent a mountain bike. Your Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina hostel may or may not be able to help you with that. In winter practicing skiing and snowboarding is also possible. Getting the idea of this beautiful area is possible in one day, but if you book a hostel in Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, for more nights there is no need to get bored.
