It was exactly what we paid for, a no frills place to crash for the night and a place to shower in the morning. It was by no means extravagant, however I would never consider it a hostel. The rooms were bare and drab, but the air conditioning was heaven and the staff was very pleasant and eager to assist you in anyway. The breakfast was barely a breakfast at all, a limited selection of rolls and croissants. Overall, the location was perfect to walk to all the sights of Rome and accommodations were comfortable for the price. I would recommend it for practicality, not for luxury.

We booked a room for five days via internet hotel booking company. Ok, we got a cheap choice but this hotel is different in brochures. We got small a room without air conditioning and share toilet. The door of the room was very small. The lighting source was a naked bulb. Hotel persons are very friendly, but this is one star hotel only.

This hotel is not what it appears in brochures and does not even merit one star! I booked and paid for a double room with en-suite and air conditioning, and was given a room which had a shower (with broken screens), bidet and wash basin on the wall adjacent to the window and only inches from the bed! The only lighting source was a naked bulb hanging from the ceiling. When I requested a change of room I was asked why I wanted air conditioning in winter (March) by the receptionist who then offered a portable unit to be installed. The receptionist also claimed that the facilities provided were "en-suite" i.e., there was washing facilities in the room, and that it was normal to have to share a w.c. with six other rooms. This "hotel" is also listed in the back-packers guide to Rome and should be rated as a hostel.
