Queen Ayola Hotel Reviews

Description

An Enchanted Old World Experience
You can't find a better place for exploring the streets of "the Mosaic City" than Queen Ayola Hotel, located in the heart of Madaba where exotic encounters and Arabian adventures are literally knocking at your door. From St. George's Church of the Mosaic Map to the Church of St. John the Baptist and the Roman Citadel on which it rests, Madaba's main attractions are less than a 5 minute walk away.

While maintaining that "enchanted old world" feel in our hotel, we have designed our rooms with comfort, cleanliness, and cost in mind. We strive to meet the expectations of our Western clientele with clean rooms, modern conveniences, and comfortable accommodations while keeping our prices affordable for even the most budget-conscious backpacker. You can find descriptions of room features and pictures on the "Accommodations" page.

The ground floor of the hotel houses one of Madaba's finest restaurants for authentic Jordanian cuisine. Open to the public, this is an excellent place to meet locals and travelers alike while enjoying the comfortable atmosphere and relaxing after a long day of exploration.

The Authentic Experience
Because of its central location (closer to Queen Alia Airport than Amman itself), Madaba is a great place to start exploring Jordan. Prices are lower than larger cities like Aqaba and Amman, and there is still plenty to see.

To better serve our clientele, our drivers and staff speak English and Arabic. If you're looking for a guide, we arrange customized tours in English, Russian, Italian, French, German or Spanish.

So you're a Backpacker...

Yeah, we get it; you want an authentic experience, not to be herded around with a group of people you don't know. Maybe you should ask about our private drivers / guides. You can pick where you want to go; your trip will be private; and you'll pay about what you would for the most affordable group tours in Madaba.

Our Accommodations
Standard Double: For our guests who are cost-conscious above all else, our Standard Double Rooms fit the bill. Equipped with the standard features, they are a clean and comfortable alternative with a fan in place of AC, and they share a bathroom with the adjoining room. Though these rooms all have natural lighting, they do not have access to a balcony.

Deluxe Double: In addition to the standard features of every room, our newly-furnished Deluxe Rooms come equipped with air conditioning and a private bathroom. These rooms are perfect for guests that want their privacy as they cool off after a long day in the Jordanian heat but are not necessarily planning on any romantic dinners on the balcony.

Luxury Double: Our Luxury Rooms come equipped with air conditioning and a private bathroom. Also, each room has a private balcony overlooking the main street of Madab where you can take in the Arabian nights while smoking an "argeela" or enjoying a traditional Jordanian dinner with room service at no extra charge. This room is perfect for a family (a third bed can be added for a child) or the travelling couple.

Location and Contact

Location

• Address & Getting Here
• 15 King Talal Street (Tourism Street)
• Madaba, Jordan 17110
• 70 meters from St. George's Church of the Mosaic Map!
• If you are just arriving in Jordan or if Madaba is your final stop in Jordan, we encourage you to take advantage of our 24-hour Airport pickup/drop-off service. It only costs 15 JOD one-way, and that's about what you will pay for a taxi, assuming you're not a novice in the Middle East. But, if this isn't an option for you, please find directions to our hotel below.
• By Bus: If you're taking public transit to Madaba, you could be left off at different locations depending on where you're coming from or which bus you took to get here. Some of the buses drop off on the North side of the city's downtown area at Idowaar MuHafaza (Governorate Traffic Circle); you can look for the Madaba Governate building on the West side of the road a hundred meters or so North of the traffic circle if you're unsure where you are. From there, you'll want to travel South along the same road (the main road through Madaba) one block until you reach the next traffic circle. From there, go straight (past the Greek Orthodox church and school on your left) until you reach a fork in the road. At the fork, bear right and walk another 100 meters. Queen Ayola will be on your left.
• If you end up at Madaba's only proper bus station (if it doesn't look like a bus station, you got off at one of the other stops throughout the city), you will be about 4 blocks East of the hotel. From the bus station travel back up the road, due West about one block until you get to a large North-South road. From there take a right and a quick left in about 20 meters. At this point you should be traveling due West again up a hill. Walk 3 blocks (past the mosque on your right near the top of the hill) and take a right at the next intersection after the mosque. Walk about another 30 meters and the Queen Ayola Hotel will be on your right.
• From anywhere else in the city finding Queen Ayola Hotel is easy. Find the Church of St. John the Baptist (the one with the steeple on the hill, which is the tallest building in Madaba). Once you've made your way to the church, travel due North down the hill one and a half blocks, about 30 meters past the intersection with the mosque, and Queen Ayola Hotel will be on your right.
• By Taxi: Have your driver drop you off at the Roman Orthodox School (Madrasat Ruum). From there, with the Greek Orthodox Church and School on your left, travel (due South) until you reach a fork in the road. At the fork, bear right and walk another 100 meters. Queen Ayola Hotel will be on your left.
