Lauterbrunnen Albergues

"Heidi? Heidi who? Well, if you stay with us in Lauterbrunnen you will certainly know by the end of your stay. But just in case here's a hint: 'Cow bells, rushing waterfalls, endless fields, snow covered peaks and much more'. Lauterbrunnen is on the list of the top 3 places to see in the world! So dont miss out Schützenbach is a small family run Backpacker & Camping. We offer budget accommodation to suit 'all pockets'. We like our guests to feel comfortable and relaxed. With our team of...
"Too many rules - This place is all about the rules. It is in a wonderful location but the people who run it are so fussy about what you are and arent allowed to do, it's quite stifling really. You are only allowed to cook between certain hours (not including lunch time -- this is particularly annoying), and you are only allowed to take a shower between certain hours too. You can't leave anything unattended for half a minute or the man who runs it will confiscate it. We arrived late at night...
"Por que ir a LAUTERBRUNNEN – SWISS-ALPS? Lauterbrunnen es el pueblo tradicional de las montañas suizas en el Corazon de Suiza. Estamos localizados en la “Valle de las 70 cascadas”...."

"Awesome Hostel! Stayed there two years ago. Great helpful staff and amazing views from the rooms." … "I stayed here in 2002 with my family. Clean, great location, wonderful hosts. If you want to party, stay in Interlaken instead. This hostel is quiet and great. Excellent kitchen facilities and dining area. Perfect location for all mountain towns, Mengen, Gimmelwald, etc." … "This is the best hostel I have EVER stayed at. The rooms were clean, the people were friendly and the...

Lauterbrunnen Travel Tips & Suggestions

Far from the crowds lies the vilage of Lauterbrunnen -- much more charming than the city of Interlaken. You do not need to spend much time in Lauterbrunnen itself, as the waterfall will take you one hour maximum. But it's a perfect base to spend some days in this area, where there's a lot of things to do -- river rafting, canyoning, just walking, going with the bahn to Jungfraujoch, and much more. Best part of Switzerland if you have a few days and want to do a lot.

I have visited this most amazingly beautiful and spectacular place three times and I'm heading back for a fourth time in October 2006. You should visit this place at least once in your lifetime.

Beautiful, serene, charming, breathtaking -- go to Lauterbrunnen! Skip Interlaken with all its expensive adventure stuff and spend some time hiking around Lauterbrunnen. You won't regret your time here. You will leave refreshed and full of good cheese and chocolate.

Do not miss it! It was the loveliest place we visited!

I've visited Lauterbrunnen twice and am captivated by this town and its amazing setting. One of my top five favorite natural setting in the world. In the fall the constant sound of the many waterfalls was very serene. In the winter this place was even more beautiful. The second time without the rain I was able to see the surrounding mountain tops. It rains here a lot. That's what makes it so lush and green. So bring your umbrella along with your camera with plenty of film. Both visits I took the train up to the town of Wengen. From there you have great views of the valley and the town of Lauterbrunnen far below. Wengen with it's lack of cars is also wonderful. In the winter people are skiing through the town and there goes grandma pulling the grandchildren in the sled home. The entire valley is a beautiful place that ignites those dreams of "what if I lived here...."

Visiting Schilthorn was the highlight of our stay - we went on a funicular, a train and a cable car and were amazed by the fantastic views when we came out of the top of the clouds. And it's cheaper than the Jungfrau trip!!
