Basel Albergues![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "The hostel is easy to get to from any of the Basel railway stations but is closest to Basel SBB (the Swiss station) and Basel SNCF (the French station). It is about 15 minutes walk from Basel SBB although it is possible to take tram 16 from Unterfuhrung SBB (near the station) to Tellplatz and change for tram 15 to Bruderholzstrasse, right next to the hostel. Once there, the hostel is a little hidden, in an internal courtyard.
Guests at the hostel receive a Mobility Pass which allows free...![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "It's not an especially beautiful or exciting hostel, but it has all the basics. There are common areas on the ground floor and basement with a TV, ping-pong table, and pinball machines. Upstairs are the dorms and facilities. The hallways are lined with big lockers, something like what you may have had in school. The rooms are average, and the bathroom facilities are below average.
The reception is closed in the afternoon and after midnight, but there is a key code for guest entry...![]() "YMCA Hostel Basel is a clean and modern hostel ten minutes away from the central terminal of Basel. The hostel has a good, quiet atmosphere, but perhaps a bit too quiet. This is the hostel for the traveler who seeks a clean bed, hot shower, and calm evening. Prices are fair (for a city like Basel); all public transportation is a short work away; and most importantly, the central train and bus terminal is a ten-minute walk away.
