Oban Albergues![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "Oban Backpackers is a friendly hostel with extremely pleasant common space. The reception, living room, eating area, pool table, TV area, and fireplace are all in the same room, and it gives a very social atmosphere to the whole hostel.
The kitchen is big and well organised. Remember to name and date your food and beer -- or else some one will chuck it out or drink it. The showers are clean and it's easy to avoid the queues - 'cos there aren't any! One of the staff (Philip) woke us up on Christmas morning with an impromptu bagpipe concert, and we shared our Christmas dinner with four different nationalities of people. We made fast friends from South Africa and Paris during our weeklong stay, and have exchanged visits with our Parisian friend already. The atmosphere was friendly and warm, the hostel was clean and well kept, and we felt ourselves very safe and slept...![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "Jeremy Inglis Hostel is conveniently located near the tourist information/ferries/bus and train stations (all within five minutes' walk) at 21 Airds Crescent. If you don't have a map, use the outdoor map at the tourist info center -- it's very close! Oban is served by bus/ferry and train. On arrival, follow the signs to the tourist info, a couple of minutes' walk from the waterfront.
