"I thought this hostel was brilliant. The staff were really friendly. The cozy fire and comfy armchairs were a welcome retreat on the two rainy days I was there, and the rooms were spacious. They have four-bed dorms with decent beds. And the showers were big enough for you to shower and dress in safety!! Not to mention the free breakfast in the winter. "What a beautiful and well cared for hostel! This is a wonderful coattage and it really makes you feel like you have come home. Shortbread Cottage is a 5 min walk from town, but you would pass i, if you were coming in on the main road into Nelson. There are the most stunning lillies outside the hostel and the whole hostel is surrounded by a wooden fence. "Almond House Backpackers is a lovely hostel that feels like home. The owners are very warm, friendly, and helpful, and their children are such darlings. "Spotless hostel with a great atmosphere - Had a great stay in this fantastic little hostel. The house is an original kauri house which is located near the river and mountains but also close to the city. The rooms were bright and airy and the place spotlessly cleaned.
