"New building, new management, brilliant value - This is a new Hostel -- opened late 2009? -- and the guys working there are keeping the place looking sharp. Has to be one of the cleanest hostels I have ever been in! Huge dorm rooms and a massive, very well lit common area. Plenty of space to chill, or socialise, depending on your MO -- you choose. Very popular destination; they are visited by plenty of backpacker bus tours on most nights ('cept Wednesday and Friday, from what I picked up) so there is a chance you will bump into them on...  more »

"Budget accommodation -- basic facilities at a basic price - Stayed here for a couple of nights in August. Great location. Oldish building, but properly serviced (clean) and with ok facilities. No staff on site (checkin at Port-O-Call Motel nearby) so no room or bed allocation -- just choose a room / bunk. Chopped wood and kindling on the veranda at back for fireplace in lounge -- not much other heating in the place. Good showers, but only two bathrooms in whole building.
