"HI - Maroochydore YHA Backpackers Hostel is small and cosy. There are many long-stayers in the hostel. It is very lively at night where backpackers hang out and chat with one another. The Location It is so difficult to find! The hostel is tucked in a whole neighbourhood. You wouldn't know it was a hostel unless you intentionally walk in. The neighbourhood is pretty alright, though. There are convenience stores within walking distance. They have a courtesy bus that takes you to places like Australia Zoo and Eumundi Markets (on Saturday)....  more »

"I stayed here by myself for two nights, and it was wonderful! It really felt like I was just at home, and I got that feeling from the dorms, the kitchen, the backyard, the lounge room downstairs, and the lovely lady who owned the place! "WOW!!! I loved this place. I showed up here planning on staying for a couple weeks while I visited my buddy, and I ended up staying 3 months!!! The $5 all you can eat bbqs are the greatest, and there's always work. I spent 22 days at sea on a fishing boat!!! I had experiences here that I will think of every day for the rest of my life.
