"Schloss Mansfeld (Mansfeld castle) dates from 1509 and is now a Christian retreat. It is located on a hill overlooking Mansfeld-Lutherstadt in the German federal state of Sachsen-Anhalt.
It is not the easiest place to get to but once there, it makes a wonderful place for a break. The nearest train station is Mansfeld but it is probably easier to get bus 372 from either Sandersleben or Eisleben stations to Mansfeld Schloss bus stop and walk up the path to the castle – timetables can be found at www.insa.de.
