Surrounded by mountains and close to the sea (Vietri is only 3 km away), Cava dei Tirreni village is in the middle of green and big valley.
Our Hostel is located 8 Km from the city centre of Salerno and just two steps from the Costiera Amalfitana. Naples is 40Km from us.
We are 800 m from the railway station when is easily reachable by train Salerno and Naples.
Next to us there is a bus stop where you can catch buses for Salerno, Vietri on the sea, Salerno, Napoli, Pompei
The history of the city is related with the Benedectine Abbey founded in XI century. In the Renaissance the city became very rich and powerful thanks to its trade, the ability of the artisans and the weaving mill. Cava dei Tirreni -also called "The green door of the Amalfi Coast"- preserves many historic tracks like the picturesque Borgo Scacciaventi, built to protect the city from the north wind. There are a lot of hiking possibilities on the Lattari Mountains through breathtaking views. The Hostel is located in an ancient convent of the XVI century: Saint Mary of the Shelter. Every last week-end of June there is a medieval tournament.
This hostel belongs to the International Youth Hostel Federation by distinguishing features and it guarantees standard details for safe, reliable accommodation to hostelling international members.
Please note, if you are not a Member of Hostelling International there is an extra charge of €3 per person per night. Once you have stayed 6 nights at a HI Hostel you become a HI member, and no extra charges apply for future stays.

Bonito hostal para visitar la costa amalfitana el "ostello di cava" esta muy bien situado para poder visitar sitios importantes de la costa amalfitana. está situado en Cava, muy cerca de Salerno, Pompei, Amalfi, Positano. El hostal está genial, es muy economico y el servicio es estupendo. Los chicos del hostal son muy amables y estan siempre dispuestos a aconsejar y ayudar para que tu viaje sea mejor. Las instalaciones del hostal estan muy bien. Las habitaciones son muy ampliaz y los baños tambien. Muy limpio y con wifi gratuito. Muy recomendable! — noraiba , España (2011-06-28) hostal pequeñito dentro de un convento en la ciudad de Cava, muy cerca de Salerno. Es una gran estancia si buscas un sitio tranquilo, ya que se descansa muy biem, y también si te gusta la vida nocturna, ya que en Cava los restaurantes y pubs cierrtan tarde, en horario español.

Despues de estar buscando Hostales por toda la costa amalfinata, no decidimos por este, Cercano a Salerno y realmente creo que no pudimos elegir uno mejor. Se trataba de un antiguo convento, remodelado como hostal, y sinceramente muy acogerdor. os cuento. Llegamos mis tres amigas y yo al hostal, antes cuando reservamos, nos explicaron perfectamente como llegar desde salerno, que autobus coger y todo, y la verdad que esta muy bien situado. Una vez llegamos, los chicos de la recepcion, no solo fueron simpaticos y amables si no que ademas se les veia buena gente. Nos ayudaron a subir las maletas y todo a la habitacion, que por cierto era una habitacion para 4 y las camas la verdad que muy comodas, Tenia tambien baño compartido con otras habitaciones, pero habia muchas duchas, y los baños estaban super bien. Es en plan albergue, esta muy chulo la verdad.
Cuando llegamos, nos duchamos arreglamos y todo eso, bajamos a preguntarles que donde podiamos ir a tomar algo, y no solo nos lo dijeron, si no que ademas nos acompañaron, se vinieron con nostras estuvimos tomando algo y despues sabiendo que en italia mas tarde de las 10, es un poco dificil que te den de cenar, Nos llevaron a un restaurante y consiguieron que nos dieran de comer..por cierto comimos muchisimo y no fue nada caro....Al dia siguiente tambien nos informaron de como llegar hasta pompeya, Y por la noche cuando llegamos, igual, nos dijeron un restaurante, que por cierto ya no solo no fue caro, Sino que estaba BUENISIIIMO!, de verdad, la mejor pizza que he tomado nunca, A la Vuelta al hostal, estaban los chicos de la recepcion, tocando la guitarra y demas...nos quedamos un rato con ellos hablando, contándonos cosas de como viven por alli, nos enseñaron como se bailan la tarantela... Sinceramente pasamos un rato muy agradable. En cuanto al precio, que se que mucha gente le interesa esto... es muy muy barato. De verdad, Comparado con todos los hostales y albergues que vimos por alli, aquello estaba tirado de precio, Yo o lo aconsejo, porque ya no es que sea barato, comodo y eso..
